Job Responsibility

  • Update, modify, and continuously improve existing controls systems including robot, PLC, HMI, vision sensor, vision system, barcode scanner, drives, electrical distribution, and pneumatic distribution programs
  • Design, develop, and implement new machine controls systems including robot, PLC, HMI, vision sensor, vision system, barcode scanner, drives, electrical distribution, and pneumatic distribution programs
  • Schedule and complete back-ups of all electronic controls systems including robot, PLC, HMI, vision sensor, vision system, barcode scanner, drives, electrical distribution, and pneumatic distribution programs
  • Developing and executing training for development of other team members on controls related systems
  • Provide a higher level of support for maintenance technicians during breakdown situations or when requested
  • Recommend and implement system modifications under the direction of maintenance and engineering
  • Coordination of interface between Shopfloor IT and industrial networks including Profibus, Profinet
  • Support of equipment procurement within the procurement phases (design, delivery release, final acceptance) and signoff of the equipment
  • Operate within the confines of industry-accepted standards such as ISO14001 and IATF
  • Additional duties assigned by supervisor, including after-hours support and remote support, organization and tracking of Maintenance and Programming Work Orders

Requirements

  • College Technologist / Technician Diploma or Electrical engineer with extensive controls background
  • Minimum 2-4 years controls related experience in an automotive environment
