Job Description:

As a Plant Operator you will be responsible for operating the bitumen terminal and polymer modified bitumen plant whilst ensuring the highest level of safety and quality control standards are adhered to.

Job Responsibility:

  • Monitor real-time operations using SCADA system to manage Bitumen Terminal
  • Weighbridge and logistics management
  • Operating automated batching system to produce various products according to specific recipes or technical requirement
  • Chemical Handling
  • Record production details
  • Undertake daily plant and equipment checks
  • Maintain a safe and tidy workspace and ensure the efficient running of the plant
  • Maintain quality standards by following Company and accrediting bodies quality procedures and protocol
  • To prepare for inspections from independent accrediting bodies
  • To support plant maintenance activities
  • To undertake any other reasonable duties as necessitated by your function
  • Be available for shift work and flexibility of working hours will be required from time to time

Requirements:

  • Be willing to learn new skills associated with plant production and maintenance
  • Experience in Process or Manufacturing Industries an advantage (full training will be provided)
  • Ability to learn quickly and take ownership of work
  • Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Have the physical ability to carry out sampling and handling of bulky or hot materials
  • Have the capacity to operate mechanical equipment
