Job Description

The plant operations leadership development program is a highly selective program with the primary goal of developing PPG’s future Operations leaders. PPG is recruiting individuals completing their undergraduate degree to join this year's cohort. In this program, you will participate in multiple rotations across manufacturing operations, quality assurance, safety, and process engineering. You will relocate at least twice, gaining exposure to diverse environments and business units. This program is ideal for recent engineering graduates eager to build a broad skill set and accelerate their career growth in manufacturing/plant leadership.

Job Responsibility

  • Utilize your rotation to learn specific skills and knowledge which will contribute to your breadth of understanding of plant operations
  • Learn and apply core manufacturing processes including assembly, machining, and automation
  • Develop expertise in safety standards and lead safety initiatives to promote a safe working environment
  • Analyze production data to identify inefficiencies and support continuous improvement projects using Lean and Six Sigma principles
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, safety, and engineering
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels to report findings and influence positive change
  • Adapt quickly to new roles, teams, and locations while maintaining high performance and motivation

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial) completed within the last 12 months
  • Strong foundation in engineering principles and eagerness to learn manufacturing processes
  • Willingness to relocate multiple times during the program
  • Commitment to safety and quality with attention to detail
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Understanding of Industry 4.0 concepts such as automation, robotics, IoT, or data analytics in manufacturing
