A globally recognized leader in the building products sector is seeking a full-time Plant Manager in Vaughan, Ontario, to oversee their high-growth production site. Offering a competitive salary of $120000 - $150,000 plus an annual performance bonus, this permanent role provides four weeks of vacation and employer RRSP matching. As the Plant Manager, you will drive Lean initiatives, mentor a high-performing team, and optimize throughput to deliver world-class glazing and terrace solutions across North America.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee all daily operations for the manufacturing facility in Vaughan, Ontario, including the management of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) metrics
Execute strategic production scheduling and resource allocation to ensure all installation deadlines and customer targets are met
Champion a culture of continuous improvement by implementing Lean tools such as 5S, Kanban, and SMED to increase OEE and reduce lead times
Act as a hands-on mentor for Production Supervisors and Team Leads, fostering a high-performance environment through consistent feedback and skill-mapping
Facilitate root cause analysis using 5 Whys and Ishikawa diagrams to minimize scrap and ensure total process adherence
Partner with cross-functional departments, including Engineering and Supply Chain, to coordinate CapEx planning and facility layout optimizations
Requirements:
7+ years of experience in manufacturing operations
At least 3 years specifically in a Factory Manager or Plant Management capacity
Proven history of successfully scaling production capacity through Continuous Improvement and Lean methodologies
Proficiency in utilizing ERP/MES systems for data-driven decision-making and production reporting
Deep understanding of Canadian OHS legislation and safety compliance
Communicative leader capable of driving accountability on the shop floor while managing complex multi-functional projects
A degree or diploma in Engineering, Business Operations, or a related technical field is highly desirable
Nice to have:
Experience in glazing or metal fabrication is preferred
