Job Description

Take the lead in shaping the future of manufacturing excellence at ResMed Malaysia—where precision, quality, and purpose come together to improve millions of lives globally! As the Plant Manager for our I-Park campus, you’ll oversee end-to-end, day-to-day operations across three buildings within the site. You’ll drive safe, efficient, and compliant performance while partnering closely with Quality, Safety, Facilities, and Engineering. With our plant expanding, this is a pivotal role to ensure smooth operations, deliver production targets at scale, and champion a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead and manage day-to-day production and planning to achieve output targets aligned with quality and cost goals across three buildings at the I-Park site
  • Optimize utilization of equipment, systems, and resources to meet changing production demands
  • Provide technical leadership and problem-solving support to ensure smooth, continuous production operations
  • Drive compliance with GMP and other quality system requirements
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma principles
  • Partner with Maintenance and Facilities to ensure all equipment and facilities operate at optimal levels
  • Support site leadership to ensure compliance with local government and regulatory requirements (Labour Dept, DOE, JKKP, Customs, City Council, Bomba, HRD, etc.)
  • Manage external contractors and suppliers to ensure quality, cost control, and timely service delivery
  • Promote and sustain a positive workplace safety culture, driving incident reduction and continuous improvement in EHS practices
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of production leaders and engineers to achieve operational excellence across the I-Park site
  • Ensure appropriate resource allocation and prioritization to meet business targets and timelines during our current expansion
  • Build capability and accountability through effective coaching, feedback, and performance management
  • Foster open communication, teamwork, and alignment with ResMed's core values and culture
  • Monitor and analyze operational performance against key business indicators
  • Provide accurate and timely reports on production and financial performance at site level
  • Work with the management team to align actions and priorities that drive sustainable growth as the campus scales

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Objective document management software
  • Demonstrated ability to empower teams and align local execution with global priorities

Nice to have

  • Postgraduate qualification in Engineering or related field
  • Experience in the medical device industry
  • Training or certification in Project Management, Six Sigma, DFSS, or related methodologies

  • Develop and implement site-level OpEx deployment plan, encompassing the Baxter Growth & Performance System (GPS), Margin Improvement Projects (MIPs), Lean Certification Programs, Best Practice Sharing, Tier meetings, iCare, and other initiatives
  • Lead site project governance overseeing the intake, evaluation, execution, and closure of site projects
  • Administer the site project management software
  • Assist leadership in establishing baseline and target metrics for key processes
  • Work with site leadership to install organizational supports for Operational Excellence including governance, communications, and rewards
  • Facilitate site strategic planning process
  • Coach and mentor site Black Belt and Green Belt candidates to ensure timely completion of their quality and/or cost focused projects- ultimately leading to the candidate’s certification
  • Partner with OpEx employees with the Advanced Surgery cluster to help guide alignment between the sites and drive OpEx strategies
