Work With Your Handz is partnering with a well-established, growing tree care company in the Philadelphia area to hire a Plant Health Care (PHC) Technician. This is a year-round, field-based role ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, take pride in quality workmanship, and are interested in building a long-term career in plant health care and arboriculture.
Job Responsibility:
Conduct plant health inspections and diagnose insects, diseases, and environmental stressors
Apply fertilizers, soil amendments, and pest management treatments in compliance with state regulations and company standards
Maintain accurate treatment records, service logs, and completed work orders
Communicate professionally with clients regarding plant health conditions and treatment recommendations
Safely operate and maintain spray equipment, tools, and company vehicles
Follow all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and best management practices
Work independently in the field while collaborating with supervisors and team members
Support the continued growth and improvement of the Plant Health Care department
Seasonal responsibilities: March – November: Plant Health Care operations
November – March: General Tree Care support
Requirements:
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
Ability and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Physically capable of performing job duties, including lifting equipment and walking job sites
Ability to read, write, and understand work orders, safety rules, equipment manuals, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices
Dependable, self-motivated, and able to manage time effectively
Nice to have:
State Pesticide Applicator License (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)
Experience in plant health care, arboriculture, landscaping, or related green industry roles
Knowledge of tree and shrub identification and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices
