Job Description

The Plant Finance Manager is a supportive team member responsible for gathering, recording, analysing, and reporting all aspects of plant finance. The position is responsible for administering and adhering to company policies, accounting and finance procedures, and financial controls including Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance. The position is engaged in daily plant activities and offers insights and guidance towards continuous improvement.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare weekly forecasting and annual budget process
  • Complete month-end closing activities ensuring accurate reporting of financial statements
  • Prepare and communicate various costing/plant performance reports
  • Complete daily/weekly/monthly accounting duties such as production and spoilage reporting, spend approvals, account expense reviews, shipping reports reviews, etc.
  • Execute required SOX reports and review controls, and maintain supporting documentation
  • Support of internal and external audit programs, including inquiries and providing support documentation
  • Assist and review capital expenditure requests, ensuring accurate economic justification and documentation aligns with company policy and procedures
  • Ensure accurate payroll execution in accordance with controls and in close partnership with site HR division
  • Ensure inventory control procedures are in accordance with accounting procedures and are SOX compliant
  • Comply with Environmental and Food Safety standards as set forth in plant policies/programs

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in finance/accounting with a minimum of 5 years accounting experience
  • CPA certification, a plus
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and financial / general ledger systems, such as SAP, Oracle, etc.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a team-based environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Exceptional problem solving, analytical and technical skills
  • Possess strong planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive information
  • Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office suite with strong aptitude and emphasis in the use of Excel
