Job Description

Plant Engineering Manager will be leading the engineering function to ensure world-class asset reliabilities, maintenance excellence, operational efficiencies, and compliance across the manufacturing lines. You will drive the implementation of maintenance strategies aligned with Group and Regional Asset Care standards, oversee engineering budgets, capital investments and develop engineering talent to support business growth. You will play a key role in ensuring plant equipment operates safely, efficiently, and sustainably while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, performance management, and safety excellence.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop and maintain maintenance systems aligned with Group and Regional Asset Care strategies
  • Lead preventive, predictive and proactive maintenance of all assets in the plant
  • Lead annual reviews of maintenance systems, standards, and engineering practices
  • Develop and manage the engineering budget in line with business requirements
  • Monitor engineering expenditure and implement corrective actions where necessary
  • Conduct engineering capability assessments and identify future development needs
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and leadership support to direct reports
  • Build a high-performance engineering culture through effective people management
  • Ensure engineering-related risks and operational issues are communicated effectively
  • Support operational planning processes and contribute to business continuity initiatives
  • Conduct regular reviews of engineering systems, processes, and routines
  • Implement corrective actions for identified engineering and maintenance gaps
  • Benchmark engineering practices against global best practices and drive improvements
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, maintenance standards, and engineering governance requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or other related engineering discipline
  • Postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage
  • Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE), Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) and COREN certifications will be an added advantage
  • 7 to 10 years' engineering experience within FMCG manufacturing environments
  • At least 3 years of experience in a management role
  • Strong experience in maintenance management, asset care management, utilities operations, and reliabilities engineering
  • Knowledge of maintenance systems, preventive maintenance programs, and continuous improvement methodologies
