The Plant Engineer is responsible for supporting maintenance, reliability, and capital improvements to optimize plant performance. They develop and implement strategies and systems for improving and sustaining Mechanical Integrity. They have potential for supervisory responsibilities and leadership growth opportunities. There may be minimal overtime (nights, weekend) required to address ad-hoc issues. This role is on-site in Aiken, SC and reports to the Plant Manager.
Job Responsibility:
Provide Technical support as needed to the maintenance department in solving routine maintenance issues
Manage capital and maintenance projects
Evaluate and implement improvements through MOC (Management of Change) and capital processes. Develop/update drawings as needed
Provide input into and operate within site’s maintenance budget
Lead root cause analyses to identify sources of failures and develop associated corrective/preventative follow-up actions
Develop and implement equipment demolition and removal strategy
Evaluate and implement improvements to mechanical integrity inspection, testing, and PM programs. Develop and monitor reliability metrics to drive improvements
Coordinate activities to be completed by Maintenance and contract personnel
Requirements:
B.S. degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering
2+ years of experience working in a manufacturing plant
Experience working effectively within a team environment (leading and participating)
Experience analyzing data and translating into making decisions and executing solutions
Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings
Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft
Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator
Nice to have:
5+ years of Maintenance and/or capital project management experience
Experience managing small capital projects
Experience conducting root cause analysis
Experience developing strategies to improve asset integrity
