We are looking for an experienced Plant Controller to oversee financial operations at our manufacturing facility in Hickory, North Carolina. This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, optimizing operational efficiency, and supporting the plant leadership team with strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting and manufacturing operations, paired with excellent analytical and communication skills.
Job Responsibility:
Manage financial reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis at the plant level
Collaborate with plant leadership to provide insights and support strategic planning
Develop and monitor key performance indicators and operational metrics
Oversee the establishment and maintenance of standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead
Ensure accurate valuation and reporting of inventory, including cycle counts and physical inventory processes
Lead the budgeting and forecasting efforts for the plant, ensuring alignment with company goals
Support capital investment planning and analysis to drive profitability
Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and better asset utilization
Ensure compliance with corporate standards and internal controls
Work closely with corporate accounting teams during month-end close processes
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on manufacturing cost accounting
Proficiency in cost accounting principles and manufacturing operations
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne or similar systems
Strong analytical abilities paired with excellent communication and business partnering skills
Demonstrated ability to lead financial initiatives and drive operational improvements
Knowledge of inventory valuation methods and standard costing practices
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning
