Our client is looking to fill the role of Plant Controller.The Plant Controller is a senior finance leader responsible for overseeing financial operations and performance across multiple manufacturing sites. This role serves as both a strategic business partner to operations and a steward of financial integrity, driving EBITDA growth, cash flow improvement, and operational efficiency while ensuring accurate reporting and strong internal controls. This position requires a hands-on leader who can operate with urgency and accountability in a performance-driven environment while maintaining the rigor and discipline required to support a scalable, audit-ready organization.
Job Responsibility:
Own full P&L performance across multiple manufacturing sites
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes
Deliver timely, accurate financial reporting and clear variance analysis
Drive accountability for financial results across plant leadership teams
Identify and execute initiatives to improve EBITDA through cost reduction, pricing support, and operational efficiencies
Drive visibility into plant cost structure (labor, material, overhead) and implement margin improvement actions
Lead working capital optimization efforts, including inventory reduction and improved cash conversion
Act as a trusted advisor to Plant Managers and Operations leadership
Translate operational performance into financial outcomes and actionable insights
Influence decision-making on productivity, capital investments, and cost initiatives
Maintain a strong presence on the plant floor to stay connected to operations
Oversee standard costing, cost updates, and variance analysis
Ensure accurate inventory valuation and strong cycle count and control processes
Drive improvements in inventory accuracy, turns, and excess/obsolete management
Lead month-end close processes across sites, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Ensure financial reporting complies with GAAP and corporate policies
Balance control rigor with operational agility ('right-sized' controls)
Standardize and scale financial processes, KPIs, and reporting across sites
Identify and lead initiatives to improve financial processes, systems, and reporting
Support ERP enhancements, integrations, or system implementations
Build dashboards and analytics that improve visibility and speed of decision-making
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA or CMA strongly preferred
10+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience in manufacturing
Strong background in cost accounting, inventory management, and plant finance
Experience in multi-site operations required
Experience in private equity-backed, public company, or similarly rigorous environments preferred
Solid understanding of GAAP and internal controls (SOX experience a plus)
Advanced Excel and ERP experience (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar)
