Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Plant Controller to oversee financial operations at our manufacturing facility in Columbus, Nebraska. This role is vital in ensuring accurate costing, financial reporting, and safeguarding manufacturing assets while driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide strategic financial insights to optimize plant performance.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop and maintain accounting procedures to ensure accurate product costing, inventory management, and financial reporting
  • collaborate with various departments, including Global Supply Chain, Procurement, R& D, and executive management, to provide financial insights and recommendations
  • drive compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements, including Sarbanes-Oxley, while leading continuous improvement efforts
  • supervise all financial activities at the plant, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • manage the annual budget and forecast processes, including the development and maintenance of standard product costs
  • oversee fixed asset management and ensure reserves are calculated appropriately
  • partner with plant leadership to optimize financial decision-making and safeguard company assets
  • ensure accurate reporting of manufacturing performance and provide detailed financial analysis to support operational decisions
  • assist internal and external auditors during periodic reviews and implement recommendations from audit findings
  • lead initiatives to improve financial controls, streamline processes, and enhance data-driven decision-making

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • advanced certifications such as CPA or CMA are preferred
  • minimum of 5 years of accounting or finance experience in a manufacturing environment, including product costing and inventory management
  • strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, macros, and data analysis tools
  • demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate effectively in a large organizational setting
  • knowledge of corporate accounting policies and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance requirements
  • experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is essential
  • proven track record of driving process improvements and delivering actionable financial insights
  • audit experience and familiarity with manufacturing variances are highly desirable
