Direct plant-level accounting and financial control activities, including cost accounting, general ledger oversight, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
Maintain and refine the standard costing structure by validating product cost data, reviewing bills of materials, and monitoring cost accuracy across manufacturing operations.
Evaluate inventory results, investigate variances, and deliver meaningful analysis on production costs, margins, and overall plant performance.
Prepare forecasts, budgets, financial statements, and management reports that support weekly, monthly, and annual planning cycles.
Partner with plant leadership to define operating targets, measure results against benchmarks, and provide financial insight for business decisions.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen productivity, and reduce operating costs through data-driven recommendations.
Establish and uphold accounting procedures and internal controls that protect company assets and support compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
Lead, coach, and support the plant accounting team while fostering a high-performance and accountable work environment.
Collaborate with auditors and provide documentation, analysis, and support for internal and external audit activities.
Contribute financial analysis for new products, pricing and product mix decisions, and manufacturing technology or system implementation initiatives.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
an advanced degree or certification is preferred.
At least 5 years of experience in accounting or finance within a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated expertise in plant cost accounting, including standard costing, variance analysis, and manufacturing cost analysis.
Experience working with bills of materials and using cost data to support inventory valuation and profitability reporting.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to work effectively with pivot tables, lookups, and large data sets.
Familiarity with SAP or comparable ERP systems used in manufacturing finance environments.
Proven ability to balance attention to detail with a broader understanding of plant operations and business performance.
Prior leadership or supervisory experience supporting an accounting team is strongly preferred.
