Job Description

Our client in Needham, Massachusetts is seeking an experienced Plant Controller for an 8-month contract opportunity. This is an on-site role supporting plant operations, financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, and internal controls. The Plant Controller will partner closely with operations leadership to provide financial insight, improve performance, and support key business decisions.

Job Responsibility

  • Oversee plant financial activities including month-end close, forecasting, and budgeting
  • Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory, labor, and overhead variances
  • Partner with plant leadership to monitor financial performance and identify improvement opportunities
  • Prepare and present financial reports, KPIs, and operational analysis
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies
  • Support inventory accounting, cycle counts, and physical inventory processes
  • Assist with annual planning and ad hoc financial analysis projects
  • Drive process improvements across finance and plant operations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, including manufacturing or plant finance experience
  • Prior experience as a Plant Controller, Controller, or senior-level manufacturing finance professional preferred
  • Strong cost accounting and inventory accounting knowledge
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with operations leadership

Nice to have

Prior experience as a Plant Controller, Controller, or senior-level manufacturing finance professional preferred
