We are looking for an experienced Plant Controller to oversee and manage the financial operations of our manufacturing facility in North Baltimore, Ohio. This role involves providing strategic financial leadership, ensuring compliance with internal controls, and driving efficiency across accounting and operational processes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong ability to analyze financial data, collaborate with leadership, and contribute to the overall success of the organization.
Job Responsibility:
Ensure the protection of company assets and oversee the accurate recording of financial transactions through robust internal controls and audits
Direct and optimize daily accounting and operational tasks, including accounts payable, payroll, inventory management, fixed assets, and cost accounting
Prepare and deliver timely and accurate monthly financial reports to senior leadership, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
Develop and implement financial plans that support long-term business objectives and drive profitability
Conduct financial analysis for special projects, capital expenditures, and product costing to support informed decision-making
Manage banking relationships to secure favorable credit terms and financial resources
Collaborate with leadership to evaluate and enhance fringe benefit programs for employees
Act as the primary liaison with external auditors, banks, insurance agents, and other financial partners
Provide leadership and vision for financial operations, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration across departments
Oversee additional operational areas, including safety, security, IT services, and facility maintenance
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required
At least ten years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and training
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including month-end close processes, budgeting, forecasting, and cost accounting
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
Effective communication and presentation skills, capable of addressing sensitive issues with senior management and stakeholders
Proficiency in calculating figures related to payroll, budgets, and statistical analysis
Demonstrated ability to lead and implement financial strategies across multiple departments
Nice to have:
Familiarity with manufacturing industry standards and practices is preferred
