Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Plant Controller to lead financial oversight for a manufacturing operation in Mount Vernon, Missouri. This role is responsible for strengthening cost visibility, supporting sound operational decisions, and ensuring accurate financial reporting across plant activities. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in manufacturing accounting, standard costing, and month-end close within a fast-paced production environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Direct plant-level financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis to support operational and business goals
  • Oversee manufacturing cost accounting processes and maintain accurate product costing to improve insight into production efficiency and margin performance
  • Manage standard cost structures, review variances, and partner with operations leaders to identify root causes and corrective actions
  • Lead the month-end close process for the facility, ensuring timely reconciliations, reliable reporting, and compliance with internal controls
  • Prepare and analyze financial results, including inventory, labor, overhead, and other key plant cost drivers
  • Collaborate with plant leadership to develop recommendations that improve cost management, productivity, and overall financial performance
  • Monitor inventory valuation and manufacturing transactions to ensure accuracy and alignment with accounting standards
  • Support audits and maintain documentation for financial controls, reporting requirements, and plant accounting activities

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in plant finance, manufacturing accounting, or a closely related accounting leadership role
  • Strong background in manufacturing cost accounting, cost analysis, and standard costing methods
  • Demonstrated experience leading month-end close activities in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to interpret financial data and translate findings into practical recommendations for operations leadership
  • Solid understanding of inventory accounting, variance analysis, and internal control practices
  • Experience working in complex industrial or manufacturing organizations, including environments associated with Eaton
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
