We are looking for a highly skilled Plant Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations within a manufacturing environment in East Granby, Connecticut. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of accounting principles and the ability to manage various financial processes effectively. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of financial records and compliance with auditing standards.
Job Responsibility:
Manage and oversee month-end closing procedures to ensure timely and accurate reporting
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded
Prepare and analyze financial statements, identifying discrepancies and implementing corrective actions
Coordinate and support financial audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards
Review, approve, and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial data
Conduct regular account reconciliations to identify and resolve any variances
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and efficiency
Provide insights and recommendations for financial forecasting and budgeting
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to financial operations
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting is preferred but not required
Proven experience in manufacturing accounting or similar industry
Proficiency in managing month-end close processes and general ledger activities
Strong knowledge of financial audits and compliance standards
Expertise in account reconciliation and journal entry preparation
Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail
Ability to collaborate effectively with teams and communicate financial insights
Familiarity with financial software and tools relevant to manufacturing accounting
