Job Description:

We are looking for a meticulous and knowledgeable Plans Examiner to join our team in Rosemont, Illinois. This is a long-term contract position within the construction industry, offering an opportunity to play a key role in ensuring safety and compliance for building projects. The ideal candidate will excel at evaluating architectural designs and construction plans, working closely with stakeholders to uphold regulations and standards.

Job Responsibility:

  • Review building plans, site layouts, and architectural drawings for adherence to zoning laws, construction codes, and safety standards
  • Ensure projects comply with environmental regulations, accessibility guidelines, and safety protocols
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to address design concerns and recommend adjustments for code compliance
  • Generate detailed reports outlining findings and necessary revisions or approvals for submitted plans
  • Conduct preliminary assessments of construction proposals to verify completeness and regulatory compliance
  • Provide technical guidance and support to developers, contractors, and stakeholders regarding code interpretations
  • Stay updated on evolving building codes, safety regulations, and industry practices
  • Maintain organized records of plan reviews, communications, and approvals
  • Contribute to the development of educational programs on code compliance for staff, contractors, and the public

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of architectural design principles and construction practices
  • Proficient in reviewing and interpreting blueprints, site plans, and engineering documents
  • Knowledge of local building codes, zoning regulations, and safety standards
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with architects, contractors, and developers
