Job Description:

As Planning Manager, you’ll provide strategic planning and scheduling expertise across all phases of the project - from pre-contract through to delivery. You’ll be responsible for ensuring accurate progress monitoring and reporting, risk and change management, and supplier and stakeholder coordination to keep the programme on track. You’ll work closely with internal teams, our client, and the wider supply chain to maintain robust and transparent plans that support informed decision-making. As a senior member of the team, you’ll also mentor junior planners, helping to develop capability and consistency across the planning function.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead and manage all planning and scheduling activities across the Metrowest programme
  • Develop, maintain and report on project schedules, progress and performance
  • Drive effective risk and change management, ensuring impacts are reflected in the baseline plan
  • Provide strategic insight and support to project leadership and client teams
  • Coordinate with multiple stakeholders, suppliers and partners to align planning information and ensure project integration
  • Mentor and develop junior planners, sharing knowledge and best practice

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience delivering complex infrastructure schemes with multiple constraints and stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6
  • Strong understanding of programme controls, project review, cost and risk analysis
  • Awareness of how commercial events and activities impact the baseline programme
  • Degree level qualification or equivalent experience
