We are recruiting for an experienced Planner to join a leading engineering and construction team delivering major infrastructure projects across the water sector. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the successful delivery of a long-term capital investment programme, supporting projects across both clean and wastewater treatment facilities, below-ground assets, reservoirs, and nature-based solutions. Working within a collaborative project environment, you’ll be responsible for developing, maintaining and monitoring project programmes, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and within budget.
Job Responsibility
Developing and maintaining detailed project programmes using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project or equivalent planning software
Monitoring project progress against baseline programmes and providing regular updates
Identifying programme risks, delays and opportunities, recommending effective mitigation strategies
Working closely with project managers, engineers, site teams and supply chain partners to ensure programmes accurately reflect site activities
Producing progress reports, programme updates, dashboards and forecasts for project stakeholders
Supporting project controls, reporting and programme governance throughout the project lifecycle
Ensuring contractual milestones and programme obligations are achieved
Assisting with tender planning and bid submissions by developing robust and realistic delivery programmes
Maintaining accurate records of programme revisions, changes and supporting information
Requirements
Previous experience in a planning role within construction, civil engineering or infrastructure projects
A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline (preferred)
Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 and an interest in digital planning techniques, including 4D planning
Experience working with NEC, JCT or similar forms of contract
A sound understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing and project delivery
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Membership of a relevant professional institution (APM, CIOB or ICE) would be advantageous
A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to project locations as required
