We are looking for talented people who share this mission-driven philosophy. We are offering this opportunity for a Planner/Urban Designer Intern to join our group. We want candidates who also believe in the importance of community planning and ‘triple bottom line’ sustainability. The successful Intern will collaborate with our team of planners, urban designers and landscape architects primarily located in Milwaukee with others in Madison, Chicago, and Green Bay, (while sharing their skills with close to 300 other colleagues across our 10 offices.)

Requirements:

  • Current student pursuing a masters degree in city / regional / urban planning, urban design, landscape architecture, or architecture
  • Familiarity in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator and InDesign
  • Additional proficiencies a plus in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and SketchUp
  • Demonstrate ability to work with a limited degree of supervision
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially for preparing reports, memos, and presentations
  • Analytical and problem‑solving skills, such as interpreting codes, reviewing plans, or analyzing demographic data
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, consultants, and community members
  • Familiarity with public engagement best practices (virtual engagement tools, surveys, meeting facilitation.)
