The Planner Scheduler for Portfolio Optimization provides advanced Primavera P6 scheduling analysis and portfolio-level planning support to enable optimal sequencing of work across a large, multi-year capital program. This role consolidates and analyzes schedules from multiple project teams, builds integrated schedules, and performs critical path and what-if scenario analysis to support site optimization, outage planning, and execution feasibility. Working closely with Planning Engineers and Project Managers, this role ensures that complex, concurrent work at shared facilities can be executed safely, efficiently, and within operational constraints.
Job Responsibility:
Collect, review, and validate detailed Primavera P6 schedules from multiple project teams across the portfolio
Develop and maintain integrated schedules that combine multiple projects at shared sites and across outage windows
Perform critical path, float, and logic analysis to understand sequencing constraints and execution risk
Execute what-if scenario planning to evaluate alternative sequencing strategies and support site space, outage, and operational constraints
Partner closely with Planning Engineers to translate field-level sequencing concepts into executable schedule logic
Identify and clearly communicate schedule conflicts, interface risks, and execution bottlenecks to Project Teams and Leadership
Coordinate with Project Managers, Project Controls Schedulers, Construction Management, and Operations to align assumptions and constraints
Ensure schedule data quality, consistency, and integrity across multiple projects and work groups
Support portfolio-level reporting, insights, and recommendations related to schedule feasibility and optimization
Requirements:
4–7 years of experience in project scheduling, Project Controls, or planning on industrial or infrastructure projects
Advanced hands-on experience with Primavera P6, including logic development, critical path analysis, and scenario modeling
Strong understanding of construction sequencing and interfaces across mechanical, electrical, civil, and instrumentation scopes
Experience working with multiple concurrent projects and coordinating across diverse stakeholder groups
Highly organized, analytical, and comfortable working with large volumes of schedule data
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex schedule impacts to both technical and non-technical audiences
Experience in oil & gas, pipelines, facilities, or other heavy industrial environments is strongly preferred
