Job Description:

As a PL1 Developer, you will be responsible for planning, developing, testing, and maintaining software solutions. Your role will involve managing the technical design and overseeing application development, including conducting tests on the software you develop. Additionally, you will provide support and consultation during the conceptual phase of the application planning process.

Job Responsibility:

  • Check functional and technical requirements regarding technical implementation and feasibility and translate them into the technical software design
  • Design, test, debug, document and implement software or application components of third-party software and of operating system-related software
  • Fulfill non-functional requirements of the solution, such as performance, data protection, IT security and ergonomics/usability
  • Ensure the future maintainability of the systems and consideration of the technical and functional environment in the context of the development of software
  • Develop software in agile teams and implement software engineering techniques and methods

Requirements:

  • Experience with IBM-Host emulated by Microfocus Runtime on Linux and proficiency in ISPF, TSO, JCL, UC4, and PL/I
  • Strong procedural programming skills in PL/1 and knowledge of DB2 and SQL, including performance tuning and XML
  • Familiarity with distributed applications, MQ / ABSCom, and Microfocus and Linux environments
  • Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, and Microsoft Office 365 and Teams
  • Expertise in demand, configuration, release, deployment, and test management
  • Completed degree in business informatics, mathematics, or equivalent knowledge
  • Advanced German (B2) and English (B2) language skills for effective collaboration and understanding of insurance terminology
