Selectek is seeking a skilled Piping Designer to develop and coordinate piping layouts and 3D models for industrial and commercial facilities. This role focuses on applying sound piping design fundamentals while collaborating with multi-discipline teams to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality facility designs. The ideal candidate has strong technical modeling skills, attention to detail, and experience working in regulated or complex environments.
Job Responsibility:
Develop detailed piping layouts and routing using AutoCAD Plant 3D and/or Revit
Apply piping design fundamentals, including pipe sizing, routing, and coordination with other engineering disciplines
Assist with facility and equipment layout to support safe, efficient, and maintainable designs
Review vendor drawings and integrate equipment and package data into piping models
Interpret piping specifications and apply requirements accurately to design deliverables
Understand project scope and identify potential changes impacting design hours, schedule, or deliverables
Support development of person-hour estimates for assigned tasks
Collaborate with global workshare teams to ensure consistent execution and quality
Maintain compliance with company standards, procedures, and QA/QC requirements
Requirements:
Associate’s degree in Design Technology or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience)
5+ years of piping design experience in industrial or commercial facilities
Proficiency in AutoCAD Plant 3D and/or Revit for piping design and modeling
Solid understanding of piping design fundamentals and equipment layout
Ability to interpret specifications and apply them effectively
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Effective communication skills for coordination with multi-disciplined teams
Nice to have:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or advanced manufacturing facilities
Familiarity with pipe stress considerations and integration with piping design
Experience supporting specification management and QA/QC workflows
Experience with Hexagon SmartPlant 3D
Exposure to global execution models and collaborative design environments
