Join our teams as a Piping and Life-Saving Appliances Equipment Specialist Engineer, based in La Défense (Paris area, France), and actively contribute to the certification of equipment essential to the safety of ships and offshore units. Within the Equipment & Materials Certification (EMC) Department, reporting to the Operations Directorate of Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore, you will join a team of technical experts dedicated to the review and certification of marine equipment. Your scope will notably cover piping equipment and life-saving appliances, supporting a wide range of international projects, from conventional systems to innovative solutions related to alternative fuels (hydrogen, ammonia, methanol, etc.). You will work closely with manufacturers, our international surveyor network, and local teams, in a demanding and stimulating environment.
Job Responsibility:
Evaluating the compliance of equipment within your scope concerning applicable Rules, maritime regulations and standards by conducting design reviews of technical documentation and validating test reports
Supporting equipment manufacturers throughout the product approval process
Assisting our international network (surveyors, local offices, new constructions and ships in service)
Occasionally working with our surveyors at manufacturers’ premises for project management, attending work meetings, or participating in tests
Actively participating in regulatory monitoring within the relevant fields, particularly in international working groups
Contributing to business development by implementing commercial initiatives
Requirements:
Degree from an engineering school or equivalent with a specialization in mechanical engineering, industrial design, or a related field
Initial professional experience in the maritime or offshore industry (ideally)
Strong interest in technical and regulatory topics
Proficiency with computer tools
Rigor in the analysis of complex technical files
Good proficiency in English
Good writing and interpersonal skills
