As a Pipeline Engineer based in our Cairo office, you will play a key role within the Engineering Department, supporting the design and development of submarine pipeline systems. You will contribute to a range of engineering activities, providing technical expertise and ensuring the accuracy and quality of pipeline-related documentation through thorough review and collaboration with project teams.
Job Responsibility
Support the delivery of pipeline engineering projects, contributing technical inputs across design, interfaces, and project execution
Review pipeline design basis to ensure full compliance with project specifications and scope of work
Manage allocated project scope, ensuring delivery within agreed timelines and budget while resolving design issues
Prepare, review, and interpret technical data, reports, and technical notes with increasing autonomy and accuracy
Participate in client and internal meetings, supporting senior engineers and contributing to technical discussions
Conduct site visits as required to support project execution
Ensure all deliverables meet quality standards, company procedures, and client requirements
Maintain clear and accurate records of project progress, analysis, and decisions
Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams to solve problems and deliver practical engineering solutions
Support knowledge sharing by engaging with mentors and assisting in the development of junior team members
Promote continuous improvement in processes and ways of working
Adhere to all QHSE policies and promote a strong safety culture across office, project, and client environments
Carry out additional duties as required to support business needs
Requirements
Minimum 7 years of pipeline design experience, ideally within engineering or consultancy firms
Educated to degree level in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant subject
Experienced in pipeline engineering software such as Sage Profile, AGA-PRCI tools, AutoPIPE, OrcaFlex, VIVSIM, Stable-Line, FatFree, and OFFPIPE
Solid understanding of pipeline engineering principles, including DNV standards and recommended practices
Able to apply industry codes, guidelines, and engineering methodologies to deliver practical design solutions
Capable of preparing high-quality pipeline engineering reports and guiding drafting teams in the production of detailed drawings
Experience across key pipeline design activities, such as: Basis of design, wall thickness, on-bottom stability, bottom roughness, dynamic span and fatigue screening, riser and tie-in spools design, global buckling (lateral and upheaval), and crossing design
