Job Description

Responsible for installing, modifying, and repairing new and existing high pressure piping systems and equipment, such as steam heating, steam generation, hydraulic systems, flash and expansion tanks, condensate, vacuum, and circulating pumps and radiators. Operates forklifts up to 15,000 pound capacity and motor vehicles up to 5 ton capacity.

Job Responsibility

  • Lay out work and measure to locate position of pipe from drawings or other written specifications
  • cut various sizes of pipe to correct lengths with chisel and hammer, oxyacetylene torch or pipe-cutting machines, threading pipe with stocks and dies
  • bending pipe by hand-driven or power-driven machines
  • assemble pipe with couplings and fastening pipe to hangers
  • make standard shop computations relating to pressures, flow and size of pipe required
  • make standard tests to determine whether finished pipes meet specification
  • installing, modifying, and repairing new and existing high pressure piping systems and equipment
  • operates forklifts up to 15,000 pound capacity and motor vehicles up to 5 ton capacity

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • journeyman level with a minimum of four (4) years of experience
  • must have a valid driver's license
  • must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization
  • US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization
  • passing a pre-employment drug screen and a government background check is required
  • must be able to read, write and speak English
  • must have a state pipefitter license (journeyman level) (TX or AR)
