Service Stream’s Utilities division are currently seeking a Pipelayer / Operator / Labourer on the Temporary Water Supplies crew to join our growing company. The primary role and responsibility of the Pipelayer / Operator / Labourer on the Temporary Water Supplies crew is to work in a team in the water and sewer industry.
Job Responsibility:
Work in a team in the water and sewer industry
Ensure successful completion of water and sewer projects in a safe, efficient, and timely manner
Installation & maintenance of the temporary water supply delivered to customers before, during and after the Water Main Renewal works
Measuring and configuring pipe routes
Gathering material and installation tools
Installing / laying temporary water supplies
Connecting all properties to the temporary water supplies
Quality assurance to ensure all properties have a suitable, clean and stable supply of water for the duration of the renewal
Continual monitoring and maintenance as required
Removal of all temporary supplies upon completion of the renewal works
Operate Skidsteer safely and efficiently
Perform routine maintenance and inspections on the Skidsteer
Load and unload materials using the Skidsteer
Assist in the setup and dismantling of equipment at job sites
Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively
Monitor and report any equipment malfunctions or potential safety hazards to the supervisor
Adhere to all company policies and procedures
Requirements:
Prior experience as an Operator / Pipelayer / Labourer with the utilities and/or civil construction sector (Essential)
Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local building codes and safety laws
Good communication and ability to work in a team
Strong knowledge of Skidsteer operations, maintenance, and safety procedure
Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions
Ability to deal diligently, patiently, and professionally with stakeholders, clients, sub-contractors, and suppliers
Initiative-taker, able to determine own priorities and manage work accordingly
Analytical with ability to identify and suggest areas for process improvement and drive efficiency
3+ years’ experience within the Infrastructure Construction industry or similar industry experience
Previous industry experience within utilities, water and/or gas / power
Specialist experience in provision of Civil services discipline
Nice to have:
Relevant Trade Qualification (Preferable)
Certificate III/IV in Civil Construction or equivalent (Preferable)
