We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Pigment Controller to join our Manufacturing & Logistics team in a Kitchener facility. This is a permanent, afternoon shift position (2:20 pm – 10:30 pm, Monday to Friday) designed for a professional who excels in precision weighing and inventory management. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for controlling, weighing, labeling, and staging pigments and additives according to specific work orders. As a key contributor to our team, you will ensure that every batch meets exact specifications while maintaining a safe and organized workspace. The Pigment Controller also serves a vital secondary function as a backup to the Colour side Blender Operator. This position within our Manufacturing & Logistics department requires a candidate with strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and significant experience operating both counterbalance and stand-up reach forklifts. You will be responsible for recording raw material codes and lot numbers within a paperless system, requiring basic computer literacy and a sharp eye for detail to prevent contamination. Because accuracy is paramount in our processes, all candidates must pass a basic math test during the application process.
Job Responsibility:
Control, weigh, label, and stage pigments and additives as per the specific work order
Follow all established Health & Safety procedures and processes at all times
Monitor inventory levels and communicate with the Scheduler/Expediter to ensure an adequate supply of materials
Record RM codes and lot numbers for all materials used within the paperless system
Ensure only approved raw materials are used as per the provided Pick list
Participate in inventory cycle counts and inspect all materials for potential contamination
Store materials on racking and maintain accurate records of RM codes, weights, and locations on spreadsheets
Re-label all used materials with RM codes, lot numbers, weights, and initials
Collect samples of expired materials and deliver them to the QC Lab for testing
Act as a back-up to the Colour side Blender Operator when directed by the Supervisor
Requirements:
High School diploma is preferred
Proven experience with high reach forklift operation
Ability to perform heavy lifting and maintain a high level of physical activity throughout the shift
Must pass a basic math test
Good computer skills, with knowledge of Excel and Word considered an asset
Excellent organizational and communication skills
High level of accuracy in data entry and record-keeping
