At Wold Farms Ltd, a subsidiary of Cranswick, we are a leading player in the UK's agricultural sector, breeding and rearing pigs to RSPCA Assured standards. An opportunity has arisen at our outdoor unit for a Pig Stockperson to join the team. This is a great opportunity for the right person to join our fast-paced ever-growing business with a bright future.

Job Responsibility:

  • Working with pigs on an outdoor unit to ensure their health and wellbeing including feeding, moving, serving and handling the pigs
  • Working to high standards of animal welfare
  • Maintaining the condition and appearance of the farm, creating a welcoming environment for both animals and visitors
  • Operate state-of-the-art farm machinery, adding a technological edge to your daily tasks

Requirements:

  • Experience with livestock or an agricultural background is preferred
  • Ability to prioritise and complete tasks with strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivation and a good work ethic
  • Less experienced candidates to be open-minded and dedicated to learning the role responsibilities

  • Understanding the importance of biosecurity and security of the unit
  • Ensuring that the unit is always kept clean and tidy and presentable to visitors with regular pressure washing being essential
  • Where applicable, ensuring all buildings and compounds are secured out of working hours
