Physiotherapist - Grade 2 (Radiotherapy/Oncology)

We are seeking an enthusiastic Grade 2 physiotherapist to join our Oncology team at Sunshine Hospital in a full time, ongoing position. Working with us you will provide clinical care across the Oncology continuum of care – in our inpatient ward, outpatient Radiation Therapy Centre, and inpatient palliative care unit. The primary caseload is in the Radiation Therapy Centre where you will be part of an innovative shared care model, collaborating seamlessly between Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and Western Health, to ensure patients receive comprehensive, coordinated support throughout their cancer journey. In this role, your days will be varied and rewarding. You will care for patients preparing for or continuing with their radiation therapy by addressing issues such as joint stiffness, pain, or reduced movement that could limit their treatment. You will work closely with patients experiencing fatigue or deconditioning, tailoring exercise and mobility programs to build strength and confidence, as well as reviewing mobility to ensure safety and reducing falls risk. Working in the Oncology, Haematology, and Palliative Care inpatient units, you will use your acute physiotherapy and discharge planning skills to deliver Best Care and achieve excellent patient outcomes that support independence, quality of life and community participation. Learning and development are integral in the culture of our department, and we will support you to build you clinical, supervision and leadership skills. We will encourage you to participate in our Research and Quality program and contribute to our stream portfolios and department committees.
