Physiotherapist – The Manor Hospital in Bedford is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country. We have an opportunity for a Physiotherapist to join their team of staff in the Physiotherapy department. This is a bank role working on an 'as and when required' basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence mainly weekends on the Elective Orthopaedic rota. The shifts available will be to work on the ward where we treat mainly orthopaedic joint replacement and day case surgery therefore inpatient orthopaedic experience is required.
Job Responsibility
Assess, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with a variety of musculoskeletal, neurological, respiratory, orthopaedic, or post-surgical conditions (dependent on setting)
Formulate individualised treatment plans based on clinical findings and patient goals
Use a range of therapeutic techniques, exercise programmes, manual therapy, and patient education to promote recovery and prevent further injury or deterioration
Collaborate closely with consultants, nurses, occupational therapists, and other allied health professionals to ensure coordinated care
Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, ward rounds, and discharge planning as appropriate
Refer patients to other services where required (e.g., hydrotherapy, pain management, or community rehabilitation)
Manage your own caseload efficiently, working flexibly across inpatient and/or outpatient settings as required
Requirements
BSc (Hons) or MSc in Physiotherapy (or equivalent qualification)
HCPC registration as a Physiotherapist
Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP)
Strong understanding of clinical reasoning, assessment techniques, and evidence-based practice
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
Time management and organisational skills to manage a varied caseload
