We are currently seeking a compassionate and motivated Physiotherapist Assistant to join our Thrive Team and support our Physiotherapy services across the home. This is a hands-on and rewarding role where you will contribute to improving residents’ mobility, strength, independence, and overall wellbeing.
Job Responsibility:
Carry out physiotherapy care and delegated duties as directed by Registered Physiotherapists
Run exercise classes within the home under physiotherapist guidance
Support residents to attend internal and approved external classes
Observe and report changes in residents’ condition or behaviour
Explain treatments clearly and gain residents’ cooperation and consent
Maintain privacy, dignity, and respectful care at all times
Use physiotherapy equipment safely and effectively
Report damaged equipment or low supplies
Follow relevant policies and procedures
Work collaboratively with Physiotherapists, Registered Nurses, Care Partners and the broader Thrive Team
Participate in quality improvement activities, audits and surveys
Attend in-service education and professional development sessions
Demonstrate relevant procedures and maintain high professional standards
Comply with all Health & Safety policies and report hazards
Support culturally safe practice in alignment with Te Tiriti o Waitangi
Promote equity, inclusion and respect for diversity
Requirements:
Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written)
Physically fit and able to perform moving and handling tasks
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Reliable, punctual and well-presented
Respectful, empathetic and culturally sensitive
Commitment to health and safety practices
Nice to have:
Previous experience in aged care, rehabilitation or a healthcare setting
