The Department of Radiation Oncology at The University of Kansas Cancer Center and the University of Kansas Health System is seeking outstanding medical physicists to join our faculty at our Olathe Location. Requirements

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Medical Physics or a related field
  • CAMPEP-accredited residency program in medical physics
  • Board eligible or board certified by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) in Therapeutic Medical Physics

  • Position patients on treatment tables and immobilize them using positioning devices to ensure accurate delivery of radiation
  • Operate linear accelerators and other radiation therapy equipment to administer prescribed doses of radiation to targeted areas of the body
  • Monitor patients during treatment sessions, observing for any adverse reactions and providing reassurance and support as needed
  • Collaborate with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and dosimetrists to develop and implement patient treatment plans based on prescribed doses and treatment techniques
  • Maintain accurate record of treatment parameters, patient positioning, and radiation doses administered, adhering to departmental protocols and regulatory requirements
