Associate's degree and 2 years of experience in cardiac imaging or related field with 1 year of independent clinical echocardiographic scanning experience in a hospital and/or outpatient environment required
Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Compliant with UR Radiation Safety Standards required

Job Responsibility

Performs a variety of technical procedures in the application of high frequency ultrasound waves to patients for diagnostic purposes
Demonstrates proficiency in complex transthoracic and stress echocardiography that is seen with structural and heart failure programs
Uses highly skilled techniques to assist in clinical decision making
Performs routine and specialized independent echocardiographic studies, including transthoracic, stress echocardiographic techniques, transesophageal and contrast exams as needed at all outpatient facilities within the UR Medicine enterprise
Applies independent judgement during the exam to ensure appropriate anatomical, pathological and clinical conditions are accurately captured in the exam images per current URMC Echocardiography Policies and Procedures
Perform necessary cardiac measurements to generate preliminary findings and image acquisition/storage to support the interpreting physician of the finalized diagnostic report
Demonstrates radiation safety competency to perform ASA, Pericardiocentesis and ICE procedures under the supervision of an echo attending or an interventional Cardiologist in the Cath Lab
Obtains pertinent patient history to optimize the exam for appropriateness
Reviews old echocardiographic studies for correlation
Prepares exam room and ultrasound equipment to perform cardiac ultrasound studies in accordance with universal precautions to ensure patient safety per approved protocols, policies and procedures
