The University of Kansas Health System, Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine, is seeking a dedicated COPD/Airways Disease Investigator to join our team at a prestigious tertiary care teaching hospital. The successful candidate will contribute at least 50% of their time to research through clinical trials, translational research, implementation science research and other acceptable methods as outlined for University faculty. We are looking for someone who is passionate about advancing the field of COPD/Airways Disease care through innovative, clinical and translational research, and exceptional patient care.
Job Responsibility:
Establish a Centers for Excellence Program for COPD/Airways Disease at The University of Kansas Health System
Seek extramural/intramural funds to support research and scholarship activities
Contribute to research through clinical trials, translational research, implementation science and other acceptable methods
Provide medical care to pulmonary patients, including inpatient service and ambulatory clinics
Instruct and demonstrate appropriate medical and research techniques to medical students, residents, and fellows
Participate in Department and Division educational activities
Support the mission of delivering the highest quality of care
Fulfill teaching, research, and academic responsibilities
Requirements:
MD/DO or equivalent
Satisfactory completion of an Internal Medicine residency and Pulmonary Medicine fellowship from an ACGME accredited program, with board certification/board eligibility in Pulmonary Diseases
In the field of COPD or Airways Disease, proven track record in clinical or translational research
Experience in providing comprehensive pulmonary care
Strong commitment to education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows
