Job Description

The Department of Ophthalmology at The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a dedicated Cornea Specialist to join our team! This faculty position offers a blend of clinical care, teaching, and research opportunities, tailored to the candidate's experience and interests.

Job Responsibility

  • Providing comprehensive clinical care
  • Participating in on-call duties as part of a shared faculty rotation
  • Supervising and mentoring medical students and residents in both clinical and surgical settings
  • Contributing to the department's didactic teaching program
  • Engaging in clinical research
  • Sharing research findings at national and regional conferences

Requirements

  • Medical Degree (MD or equivalent)
  • Board certification or eligibility in Ophthalmology
  • Completion of a Surgical Cornea Fellowship
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in Kansas

Nice to have

  • Academic experience with a strong interest in teaching and research
  • Proven ability to develop and grow independent research programs, including securing funding from public and private sources
