Requirements

Two years experience in a Catheterization Laboratory is highly desirable
ACLS certification within 6 months of employment
Courses in Hemodynamic monitoring, Arrhythmia interpretation and cardiac specific classes within 1 year of employment
Certification in POC testing (ACT)
Basic Life Support Card
License is required as issued by the state of California CRT and national ARRT
Must have fluoroscopy permit

Job Responsibility

Performs quality patient care in collaboration with the Physician and Registered Nurse during all cardiac and peripheral diagnostic and interventional procedures and electrophysiology studies
Under the general direction of the invasive cardiologist assists in all duties related to catheterization lab procedures
Primarily responsible for radiographic equipment radiographs and related imaging and archiving
Participates as a surgical scrub tech as necessary
Monitors and processes hemodynamic data
Performs duties in alignment with the mission and policies of the organization
Utilizes professional and hospital standards of care and standards of practice to guide care delivered to the patient
Maintains patient safety and confidentiality during the hospital stay
Performs duties in support of and in compliance with the PI plan TJC and other regulatory agencies
Provides professional patient care in accordance with the appropriate scope of practice

Requirements

Be a registered Medical Practitioner in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Hold a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Cardiology or its equivalent with postgraduate qualifications in Cardiology
Have appropriate training and experience applicable to the field of cardiology and its applicable sub-specialty of non-invasive cardiac imaging, including echocardiography
A commitment to quality, excellence and best practice in the delivery of cardiac services to Austin Health patients (including inpatient services, outpatient services, diagnostic and interventional services as appropriate)
Have demonstrated capability and interest in research.

Job Responsibility

Performing and reporting inpatient and outpatient transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiography including treadmill stress and dobutamine stress echocardiography
Supervising trainee medical staff in imaging
Assisting cardiac sonographers with image interpretation
Attending and managing patients through the general cardiology outpatient clinic
Providing comprehensive management of inpatients and outpatients as required
Participation in the ward service roster and providing comprehensive management of inpatients
Attendance and active involvement in weekly departmental lecture series, clinical audits and craft group clinical meetings
Participating in the relevant cardiology on-call service as required.
