Physician - Hospitalist Nocturnist

• Inpatient Admissions: Evaluate and admit patients from the Emergency Department (ED) and other facilities, formulating initial diagnosis and treatment plans
• Clinical Management: Provide direct patient care, including prescribing medications, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and managing acute changes in patient status
• Emergency Response: Lead or participate in Rapid Response and Code Blue teams as the primary overnight responder
• Medical Supervision: Supervise residents, medical students, and Advanced Practice Clinicians (APCs) during nighttime clinical activities
• Transitions of Care: Conduct thorough handoffs to daytime teams to ensure continuity and safety in patient care
• Consultative Services: Provide medical consultations for specialty services (e.g., surgical or psychiatric units) as requested

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution
• Completion of an accredited residency in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Valid, unrestricted state medical license and current DEA registration
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Clinical Independence: Ability to make critical clinical decisions and manage complex cases with limited immediate specialty support
• Procedural Skills: Competence in or willingness to learn procedures such as central line placement and intubation is often preferred
• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills for coordinating with the ED, daytime hospitalists, and patient families
• Efficiency: Strong multitasking and prioritization skills to manage high-volume overnight admissions and acute floor issues

Procedural Skills: Competence in or willingness to learn procedures such as central line placement and intubation is often preferred
