The University of Kansas Health System, Department of Internal Medicine, is seeking a full-time academic clinical physician/investigator with demonstrated interest in geriatric oncology to join its expanding team. This position will have the opportunity to work within either the Division of Medical Oncology, the Division of Hematologic Malignancies and Cellular Therapy, the Division of Geriatrics, or combination of the above, as well as the University of Kansas Cancer Center (KUCC), the Center for Survivorship and Patient-Oriented Research (CSPOR), and the Landon Center on Aging (LCOA).
Job Responsibility:
Development of a geriatric oncology program
Contributions to programs within KUCC, CSPOR, and LCOA
Development of a T32 training program
Clinical care
Education
Research (clinical, translational, or laboratory)
Requirements:
MD, DO, MBBS, or equivalent degree (PhD alone is insufficient)
BC/BE in Hematology or Medical Oncology AND Geriatrics
Demonstrated record of excellence in clinical care
Originality and productivity in research
Proven or promising track record of securing extramural funding
Interest in graduate and medical education
Substantial experience in Hematology, Oncology, or Geriatrics
Expertise in both inpatient and outpatient care settings
History of NIH or other federal funding
Strong publication record in geriatric oncology
Nice to have:
Experience in geriatric oncology outpatient clinics
Active R01 or equivalent funding
Robust research portfolio focused on cancer survivorship and/or accelerated aging
