Performs a variety of administrative and managerial functions in the areas of scheduling, billing, information technology/electronic medical records, quality improvement, patient service, and patient referrals. Oversees assigned clinic(s) to ensure compliance with regulatory and government agencies. Serves as a key member of the management team under the direction of Director.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provides positive leadership by an environment of teamwork, open communication and customer service
  • Responsible for human resources processes including interviewing and orientating staff, ongoing performance management, work assignments/daily operations, and timekeeping/scheduling
  • Assists in developing clinic processes to achieve corporate strategies and financial targets, managers areas of responsibility to optimize revenue and reduce costs
  • Collaborates with peers to develop and maintain departmental policies, procedures, and work instructions for compliance with regulatory standards and to improve the overall operation of the facility
  • Applies in-depth knowledge of revenue cycle applications to ensure effective and optimal use of current applications and incorporation of refinements in applications based on organization changes or process improvements
  • Educates individuals in and outside the Revenue Cycle department as it relates to department systems and services
  • Manages all phases of large and small projects. Accountable for the success of projects, process improvements, and overall benefits realization
  • Collaborates with senior management to develop long-range plans and organizational policies
  • Collects and analyzes data for monthly and annual reports. Prepares analytical reports and makes recommendations to management
  • Ensures compliance with regulations and standards of performance for quality care. Ensures that the organization’s goals, philosophies, and objectives are optimally supported by the Revenue Cycle department
  • Ensures that communication staff handle calls appropriately
  • Ensures that medical records are complete, accurate, secure, and readily available. Ensures timely and accurate filing of medical documents in patient charts
  • Participates actively in clinic patient complaint procedures to resolve operational problems
  • Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested
  • Participates in professional development efforts to keep current on health care trends and practices
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Health Care Management

  • 5 or more years management experience in a medical practice environment

  • Oversee the processing of protocols through DFCI Institutional Review Board (and other institutions' IRBs) when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the DFCI Clinical Trials Office (CTO), the Office for Human Research Studies (OHRS) and the Quality Assurance for Clinical Trials (QACT) to fulfill local and federal requirements governing human clinical trials.
