The Physician Assistant Fellow is joining DFCI in a one-year Physician Assistant post-graduate training program. The Physician Assistant Fellow has completed PA school and is a certified Physician Assistant. The Physician Assistant Fellow uses clinical and academic skills in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of patients with cancer or hematologic disorders. The Fellow joins DFCI for dedicated mentorship in oncology through a program that will include didactic and clinical training outlined by the PA Fellowship Director. Job Responsibility:
In collaboration with a physician and mentors, the Physician Assistant Fellow manages therapeutic regimens for acute and chronic problems associated with such disease, treatment and/or conditions
The Physician Assistant Fellow provides anticipatory guidance, patient and family education, and psychological and emotional support
The Physician Assistant Fellow has prescriptive authority which includes schedule II through V controlled substances in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
The Physician Assistant Fellow takes advantage of formal and informal learning opportunities to strengthen his or her knowledge base in support of the Institute's Mission, Vision and Core Values
Requirements:
Master’s Degree and successful completion of an AAPA/NCCPA accredited Physician Assistant Studies program are required
Must be NCCPA Certified and licensed to practice as a Physician Assistant in Massachusetts
Must maintain current DEA and Massachusetts Controlled Substance Licenses
Complete 100 hours of CME according to national and state regulations during each 2 year period of employment
