The University of Kansas Health System invites applications for a distinguished Clinician Scientist in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. This exceptional opportunity is ideal for an accomplished, research-focused psychiatrist who is eager to advance the understanding and treatment of mental illness through innovative research, clinical excellence, and academic leadership. This is a full-time faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant, or Associate, or Professor either on tenure track or non-tenure clinical/scholar track, depending on qualifications and experiences.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and lead an independent, extramurally funded research program in areas such as neuropsychiatry, mood and anxiety disorders, psychosis, addiction, brain stimulation, or behavioral neuroscience
Collaborate with established programs in Neuroscience, Cancer Survivorship, Neurodegenerative Disease, and Population Health
Engage in a vibrant academic environment with opportunities to mentor trainees, develop multidisciplinary research initiatives, and lead national collaborations
Serve as a thought leader within a premier academic medical center
Requirements:
MD, MD/PhD, or DO
Board Certification in Psychiatry
Demonstrated record of sustained extramural research funding (NIH, NIMH, or equivalent)
Proven excellence in both research and clinical psychiatry
Nice to have:
Expertise in translational or clinical neuroscience, psychopharmacology, neuroimaging, or behavioral intervention research
Experience leading multidisciplinary or federally funded research programs
