As our Physical Therapy Assistant, you will help patients rebuild or maintain their physical wellbeing so they can function at their best level, reduce pain, and improve their quality of life. Every day you will perform initial evaluations, develop and update individualized plans of care, and provide a variety of direct treatments. You will be expected to consistently meet patient care productivity standards, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and families, and promote a positive customer service environment. To be successful in this role, you must possess strong age-appropriate competency skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative, patient-centered approach to care.
Job Responsibility
Assist the licensed physical therapist with patient assessment, care planning, patient treatment and education according to the professional practice guidelines defined by state and professional sources
Works as a collaborative team member to develop a coordinated care plan that is accountable to achievement of established goals
Is knowledgeable and completes all required documentation and billing requirements according to established local, state and federal law
Is responsible for the knowledge and application of measurable quality metrics associated with the area of active practice
Periodically attends team meetings to discuss/improve program evaluation/quality measures
Provides supervision to physical therapy techs according to established local, state and federal guidelines
Takes responsibility to stay current with evidenced based practice guidelines, stays current with new research introduced and serves as a professional resource to other team members in the area of physical therapy practice
Requirements
Experience in a hospital or clinic environment
Associates Other Associate PTA degree from an accredited program
Physical Therapy Assistant License in the State of Nebraska
Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association
