This position provides outpatient orthopedic & sports physical therapy services primarily to a pediatric population from school age through adolescence/young adulthood. The applicant should be adept and comfortable independently managing the complete continuum of professional services from patient access to appropriate coding and billing practices according to legal/ethical guidelines and hospital policy. Performs evaluations, program planning, and treatment of patients using exercise, neuromuscular reeducation, joint and soft tissue mobilization, taping, electrical stimulation, thermal modalities, etc. specific to age, athletic activity, and developmental/functional level determined by assessment. This position will demonstrate an understanding of billing and coding practices as appropriate for professional outpatient services and its revenue cycle.
Job Responsibility
Provides outpatient orthopedic & sports physical therapy services primarily to a pediatric population from school age through adolescence/young adulthood
Independently managing the complete continuum of professional services from patient access to appropriate coding and billing practices
Performs evaluations, program planning, and treatment of patients using exercise, neuromuscular reeducation, joint and soft tissue mobilization, taping, electrical stimulation, thermal modalities, etc.
Demonstrates knowledge of typical development as it relates to athletic activity
Uses pediatric and athletic activity-based behavior management strategies
Establishes treatment plans with functional/measurable goals
Implements patient's plan of care using treatment modalities
Performs patient/family teaching for maximizing function and return to activity/sport
Maintains appropriate and timely documentation
Organizes, coordinates, and collaborates with other disciplines
Builds and maintains rapport within the department
Supervises and directs rehab technician and/or students
Requirements
BS or higher degree from a school accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association
Sports/Orthopedic physical therapy setting
2 years experience treating, coaching or teaching ages 7-18
Possess a current Arizona State Board of Physical Therapy license, prior to start date
Possess American Heart Association's BLS certification prior to start date
Holds, or is eligible to obtain a National Provider Identifier (NPI) to render and bill for independent professional services prior to start date
Nice to have
2 years of athletic experience as a player, coach, official, etc.
Possess AZ DPS fingerprint clearance card prior to start date
