Job Description:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Physical Collateral Examination Associate to join their Vendor Finance team in Commercial Bank. This is a remote position based in Maple Grove or Rochester, MN. In this role, you will be responsible for inventory inspections, reconciliation tasks, and fostering customer relationships, while ensuring compliance and risk management.

Job Responsibility:

  • Schedule and route daily travel to customer locations within an assigned geographic area, incorporating overnight stays to reduce travel time for optimum productivity
  • physically inspect inventory and assess the condition to confirm the collateralized position
  • reconcile discrepancies with the customer and document details to support final inventory inspection results
  • build relationships with customers through setting inspection expectations, answering questions, providing support with payment systems and raising customer growth inquiries to commercial and portfolio teams
  • communicate with manager, account manager and peers to resolve issues and escalate risks
  • perform physical inspections of commercial business inventories to assess their condition and provide prompt, accurate reporting to confirm collateralized position
  • respond to customer inquiries, questions, documentation issues, billing errors, disputes, and program changes

Requirements:

  • 6+ months of Collateral Examination experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, education
  • must be willing to travel overnight
  • ability to push/pull 50 pounds and lift 25 pounds
  • ability to work in outdoor environments up to 8 hours per day
  • ability to travel daily with 4 or more hours of driving per day
  • reliable transportation for daily business travel
  • must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act
  • this position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship
  • specific compliance policies may apply regarding outside activities or personal investing

Nice to have:

  • 6+ months of auditing experience
  • 6+ months of customer service experience
  • bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, business or related field
  • ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • able to anticipate and adapt to rapidly changing, growth-oriented environment
  • good verbal and written communication skills
  • outstanding problem solving and decision-making skills
  • intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) skills
  • proficient knowledge of business practices and processes
  • ability to work with limited supervision
  • ability to negotiate with customers to obtain necessary documentation
  • strong problem solving and mathematical skills
