Job Description

Robert Half has a brand-new opening for a PHP Developer with a local client based in Clearwater, FL. Full-time, onsite position in their Clearwater office (33760). Compensation ranging $80-100K+ depending on experience. Medical insurance is also 100% sponsored after onboarding period. As well as 5-10% annual bonuses.

Job Responsibility

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable PHP web applications that support our nationwide product ecosystem
  • Work with MySQL databases — schema design, optimization, and complex query execution
  • Build and optimize internal tools, customer portals, and REST APIs integrating Android devices, IoT systems, and real-time services
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations teams to deliver reliable solutions end-to-end
  • Write clean, secure, reusable, and well-structured code
  • Participate in code reviews, contribute to architectural decisions, and drive best practices

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional experience in PHP development
  • Experience with MySQL or other relational databases
  • Strong understanding of modern JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Knowledge of REST API standards and integrations
  • Solid grasp of version control — Git/GitHub
  • Ability to work independently while thriving in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Nice to have

  • Experience in any of the following: Linux-based environments & server configuration
  • Nginx/Apache, PHP-FPM performance optimization
  • Docker or containerized development
  • WebSockets, real-time systems, or IoT communication
  • UI frameworks (Bootstrap, Tailwind, Metronic) for building responsive UI
  • CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices (OWASP)
  • Understanding of scalability and distributed architectures
