Job Description:

You will be a key member of the engineering team, responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of our client's core PHP backend systems. You’ll guide and mentor junior engineers, contributing to system architecture and leading migration efforts to the latest Symfony version. You will also play a key role in ensuring the security and stability of their platform.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers
  • Design and implement robust PHP/Symfony backend services
  • Lead the migration from Symfony 4.4 to the latest version
  • Oversee the development and optimization of critical batch processes
  • Design, implement, and maintain high-performance RESTful APIs
  • Proactively identify and remediate security vulnerabilities
  • Collaborate on database schema design, migrations, and query optimization
  • Work with Kubernetes and containerized application environments
  • Enforce coding standards and conduct thorough code reviews
  • Play a key role in release processes, including documentation

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of professional experience with the Symfony PHP framework
  • In-depth knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Proven ability to write clean, modular, and maintainable code
  • Demonstrated ability to break down complex problems into clear tasks
  • Solid understanding and practical experience with database migrations
  • Clear knowledge of designing, developing, and consuming RESTful APIs
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerized applications
  • Decent knowledge of web application security and Symfony-specific vulnerabilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
