Job Description

A high-performing and inclusive primary school in Tower Hamlets is looking for a Phonics / Early Reading Teaching Assistant for an ASAP start. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a focused role supporting early literacy, working closely with pupils in Reception and Early Years at a crucial stage in their development. As a Phonics / Early Reading Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support the delivery of phonics sessions, early reading and language development, while also contributing to a classroom environment that encourages curiosity, confidence and independence.

Job Responsibility

  • Support the delivery of daily phonics sessions and early reading activities
  • Work with small groups and 1:1 to strengthen literacy skills
  • Assist with early writing and communication development
  • Help maintain a structured, engaging and supportive classroom environment
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff

Requirements

  • Experience working with children in a school or Early Years setting
