Job Responsibility:
Analyze, transcribe, and annotate speech and linguistic data using phonetic principles and IPA notation
Support the development, testing, and evaluation of speech recognition and synthesis systems
Collaborate with linguists, engineers, and researchers to refine pronunciation databases and language resources
Assist in curating, organizing, and maintaining audio datasets for language technology projects
Contribute to the preparation of project documentation, reports, and training materials
Ensure accuracy and consistency in all phonetic transcriptions and annotations
Engage in continuous learning to stay updated with advancements in phonetics and language technology
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Phonetics, Applied Linguistics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Solid understanding of phonetic theory, IPA, and speech sound classification
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to perform precise linguistic analysis
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including clear, concise documentation abilities
Comfort working collaboratively in a remote, cross-functional team environment
Enthusiasm for learning new tools and techniques relevant to phonetics and language technology
Proficiency with productivity software and willingness to learn industry-specific tools
Nice to have:
Experience with speech technology, such as ASR or TTS systems, is a plus
